Hubby mine

I found this meme over on Julie's blog.

1. He’s sitting in front of the TV: what is on the screen? The best available choice from the scroller, but often talking heads, football, or an action, sci-fi, or horror flick.

2. You’re out to eat. What kind of dressing does he get on his salad? He might get the soup instead, but if he gets a salad, bleu cheese.

3. What is one food he doesn’t like? Cold cereal.

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order? Where we go is the Mexican restaurant, so it's usually a strawberry margarita. But he likes the (very) occasional whiskey sour.

5. Where did he go to high school? Jesuit High School, New Orleans, LA

6. What size shoe does he wear? Umm... 6?

7. If he were to collect anything, what would it be? Swords, and he does.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Oyster po'boy

9. What would the Husband eat every day if he could? Candy, and he can and does.

10. What is his favorite cereal? See #3. But he enjoys a bowl of oatmeal now and then.

11. What would he never wear? Umm... I'm thinking... There must be something! Inauthentic Japanese armor, maybe. Anything with an Abercrombie label on it, maybe.

12. What is his favorite sports team? The Seattle Seahawks.

13. Who is his best friend? Well, I am, but also his college friend Bob, with whom he has shared many an adventure.

14. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn’t do? I ask him to explain his decisions about home-improvement projects.

15. How many states has he lived in? LA, WA, FL - I think that's it, so 3.

16. What is his heritage? Irish and German, two quarters of each.

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind? I bake? (snort) Something out of a box then. But what he'd really like is lemon anything or a Boston creme cake, purchased from a bakery.

18. Did he play sports in high school? Yes, in addition to forays into football and wrestling, he was a gymnast.

19. What could he spend hours doing? Reading, watching TV, improving the house, having sex, sitting in a sailboat cockpit somewhere tropical.

That's probably not the order in which he would list those.

Belated Valentine's Day meme

I have passed the point of *really* loving being home alone and am ready to have my husband and kids back, so it seems a good time to finally fill this in. I found it most recently on Sandra's blog.

1. What is his name? Frank
2. How long have you been together? As a couple, 22 years last January 29th. As friends, a year or two more than that.
3. How long did you date? 22 years and counting ('though there have been dry spells)
4. How old is he? 59
5. Who eats more? It varies from meal to meal. He definitely eats more gummi bears. :-)
6. Who said "I love you" first? He did, by about 10 seconds.
7. Who is taller? I am.
8. Who can sing better? He can, definitely, and he does some terrific singer impersonations.
9. Who is smarter? Frank retains information WAY better than I do and he tends to be more logical, although that's a closer call. He's definitely better at spatial stuff (see #12 below). I am probably smarter in social and emotional situations.
10. Who does the laundry? I do, and woe betide any who interfere. Except when the basement floods and the laundry pile gets soaked while I'm at work; then I'm thrilled to have assistance.
11. Who pays the bills? I do, being far too anal to tolerate his rounding the checkbook balance to the nearest five dollars.
12. Who sleeps on the right side? Facing the head or the foot of the bed? (This is why small children have trouble learning left and right!) Facing the foot, I sleep on the right.
13. Who mows the lawn? Frank does. Or I hire MJ or a neighbor kid.
14. Who cooks dinner? Frank does.
15. Who drives? Around town, I do mostly. On roadtrips, he does more of it.
16. Who is more stubborn? Ohhh, that's a toughie. We both have our moments and might tend to give opposite answers to this question. I'll go with "He is."
17. Who kissed who first? I think he made the move, but it was definitely mutual.
18. Who asked who out first? I had just broken up with my boyfriend and he offered to take me out to a sympathy lunch. (It was a date really.)
19. Who proposed? There was no proposal. We started talking about getting married about two weeks into our relationship, even though it took us more than four years after that to get to the altar.
20. Who has more friends? I do, but the numbers have evened out since LIFE is Good.
21. Who is more sensitive? To noise and emotional turmoil, I am. To stress and conflict, he is. Then again, stress and conflict wig me out pretty bad. Maybe it's a tie.
22. Who has more siblings? We both have three, but he should have four.
23. Who wears the pants? He would probably say I do, but if so, he wears the suspenders and the underwear. And he's the body that keeps it all together.
