8 things about me
My unschooling buddy Schuyler has meme-tagged me.
~~~Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.~~~
1. I want to go live in England with Schuyler! I have a little fantasy of living in a flat in Epping, a little town that is at one end of one of the Tube lines. I could live the village life but have amazing, exciting London a 30-minute Tube ride away. Loverly!
2. I also want to live in Sunny Valley, Oregon. I fell in love with Sunny Valley when we traveled down to southern Oregon several years ago for the wedding of one of Frank's many cousins. It's a gorgeous spot just up the road from Grants Pass. You climb a big hill and there it is, in all its green glory. One of Oregon's historic covered bridges is located there, but it's the woods I really love. Too bad they charge Seattle prices for homes there!
3. A recent development: I feel guilty for wearing comfortable clothes. Just don't ask me to explain it!
4. I wear comfortable clothes all the time. If Levi Strauss ever goes out of business, I'll be devastated.
5. I proofread everything: books, billboards, Web sites, cereal boxes. Words are my passion and all, but even I get a little tired of the editor in my head. It would be nice to just *read a book* without thinking, "The author should have used the subjunctive there!" or "It's its not it's!"
6. Our experience on the Zombie Princess might have put me off sailing forever.
7. On my bulletin board at work, I have pictures of Boris Karloff, Beethoven, a nun playing paddleball, a mermaid, an American Indian, and a stick-figure writer whose arms are tied to his torso. I also have a quote from Shakespeare in Love that reads, "The natural condition is one of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster... Strangely enough, it all turns out well."
8. I want to marry Frank again. We talked about doing it this summer—it's our 17th anniversary August 24th, and 17 years is our age difference—but the summer filled up with other events. Sometime soon, though.
As a rule, I don't pass chain letters on, so I won't tag anybody. But feel free to put your 8 in the comments or on your own blog!
1. I don’t like me.
2. I’m afraid of EVERYTHING.
3. I’m like an Edgar Rice Burroughs protagonist who’d rather fight a giant, green, 4-armed monster than talk to an attractive girl/woman. Pathetic. As bad as I was at 14.
4. I’ve never lost my childhood sense of wonder at the mysterious magnificence of the universe. Sometimes it’s overwhelming enough to make me stand still for a minute just to accept it. I’m incapable of digesting it; but I can get to a place of acceptance.
5. Death is an old friend; I look forward to it. But I’m not in a hurry to get there.
6. I want to go into space. Desperately.
7. Being married to Ronnie is as magically mysteriously wonderful as the universe. I still don’t understand it; but I’m happy to accept it.
8. MJ and Chloe are… Well, I dunno how to phrase it. They came (partially) from me. Amazing!
I couldn't resist this one
1. I don't regret ... not even my "bad" choices. It's all made me who I am & I'm happy with me!
2. I'm amazed at the things that are so intimidating & at the same time exhilirating ( scanning a trauma patient, singing karaoke)
3. I see myself in people way older & way younger than I am.I like being in the middle. I have my dad,my kids & grandkids & some of me is in each of them. It's easier to look at myself through them.
4. I don't care what people think about me. I find the less I care, the more people like me. Go figure.
5. I don't accept anything as fact. Everything is perception.Nobody's perception is "right" or "wrong". My perception is right for me until somebody changes my mind!
6. I can't give up all my vices. Sugar is my worst.
7. The older I get, the more I need to be organized.
8. I've been here before, or part of my being has interacted with people in my life at another time. There is a reason for the relationships that I've made. I don't completely understand sometimes, but there's history that I feel on a deep level. I try not to analyze it, but just accept that one day I will understand it all.
