All is well

Frank is home from surgery and doing great. The surgeon seemed to be doing her best to keep us from thinking this will give him a 20-year-old's knee again, but we already knew that, so we're just happy to have it done.

He has to use crutches for a few-to-several days, and he's not supposed to soak in the tub for a week. The latter is the more distressing for my beloved hot-water addict, I think. :-)

He's sitting in his big chair, eating fish and chips and watching the Olympics. Life is good.

Yay Fish and Chips!! When we see you next year do we get to check out the scar?

Man, that crossing just seems to exact payment from y'all that is remarkably expensive.

Love!!!

It's really good to hear that all went well, and that surgery can be followed by fish and chips and Olympics... that combo. is stellar. Now why haven't we tried that?:)
Recuperate well, and be well.

Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes. I took a coupla pain pills Friday after the meniscectomy but took NO palliatives on Saturday and even put some weight on the knee. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery.

Schuyler, it wasn't the sailing that tweaked my knee, it was putting in flooring a coupla weeks before the sail. Sailing certainly didn't help it but once the inital damage was done, that meniscus tear wasn't gonna heal itself. Hooray for modern, arthoscopic, minimal-invasive techniques!

Hello Frank and Ronnie! I am not much of a poster, or even a reader of others posts, but I had to say hello, and congrats on your new knee Frank! Thank you again for making Ivy's visit to Corvallis, or as she calls it Unschoolers Central, a reality. She's so happy with her little tribe...I trust we'll see you all sometime...;-) Robyn
