Pouty Mouthy Shrew

Hey, men - Could you excuse us for a minute? Come back tomorrow.

Hey, women - Got any ideas for improving my mood once a month? I don't know what's going on, but my usual day or two of crankiness is now lasting more like 10 days. I really hate it, and I'm sure it's not a barrel of monkeys for Frank and the girls.

Have lots of HDS with your hubby.

Helpfully,

No, really, this is from an anonymous poster who just hacked into Frank's, I mean, some random person's, ID. But it's still good advice. Really.

Sorely missing from modern life, I believe, is the red tent. When I feel this way to me it's a message that I need to go within, and the demands of everyday life (or just the normal noise and activity of a household) are what make me irritable. I don't think I just *am* irritable, but less tolerant of stimulation.

Do you think maybe it's perimenopause? I hear that increased hormonal fluctuations can excerbate PMS.

I've been learning about the chemical effects of herbs and foods, but I haven't gotten to the reproductive system yet. I'd guess though that essential fatty acids would be good to up your intake of, and maybe green tea for the theanine.

Last month -- Mother's Day -- was the worst for me. I had a meltdown when I was wrapping Mark's mom's gift that I had picked out and bought, and Mark, lying on the couch, sent Owen and his cousin for me to fix them ice cream. The voices in my head said, "Kill Him Now.

I tend to let the hormones fuel the voices. The Martyr voice is the worst. I'm going to try to remember that my perception at times like these is really screwed up. And calmly ask for some space, some consideration. "Take to my room" if I have to, you know.

Maybe sit down and "do the work"?

Anyway, I hear you. :/

Now you know why my generation was all hooked on hormone therapy. It did help. And now of course has been proven to be totally bad for you breast-cancer wise. Well, the GNC or Supersupp Store can aim you in the right direction, I think. There was something like vermine of black cherry pits we were supposed to take as the replacement for the hormone replacement!! Good luck! And of course, hide -- so you endure no stress!! Love you lots.....

You're talking my language! I have an herb blend that my 'guy' for health got for me. It's by Banyan Botanicals (Ayurvedic Herbs & Products) called: Shatavari. When I miss this, the kids and hubby let me know!! It took care of balancing all my perimenapause symptoms.

Thanks for all the ideas, including the Evening Primrose Oil suggestion I got from Robin in e-mail.

And thanks for the perhaps overly optimistic suggestion from the "anonymous" poster. :-)
