Interactive N.O. flood map

This is pretty interesting. It shows the progress of the flooding during/after Katrina. The L made by the Industrial Canal and the MRGO/ICW out to Lake Borgne is the route we ultimately took to get out of Lake Pontchartrain. Marty's and Chrissy's neighborhoods are just off the map to the left, Judy's place is north of Lake Pontchartrain. Chalmette is where Lori and Jerry grew up; their grandparents' house there was totaled.

All,

Having a wonderful time in Japan. You all should head over here after work on Friday. Cap't Furanku: I have learned of a good kendo shop here called "Budo-Suzuki" but I have yet to actually locate the bastard in the maze that some call... Tokyo.

I just have to add that there is this TV personality over here called "Sailor Boy". He walks up to gringos on the street and says: "Ship...ship...ship" and a film crew tapes the reaction. My buddy Hiroshi (hafujin) was on the show one time and Sailor Boy asked him for a spritz of sun tan lotion spray. Hiroshi sprayed him right in the eye. Sailor Boy thanked him and walked away...

Ahh, I'm so jealous. Sounds like you're having a swell time. It's interesting how we emulate/copy so many things from Japanese culture and they, in turn, do the same with ours. Hope you get to have an interesting time shopping at Budo-Suzuki. See ya!
